Updates from Valley Heights

We started this meeting with a scavenger hunt planned by Mrs King. We had to find things like calendar from 1998, telephone book from 1999, emory board, animal hair/fur clippings, and a clear push pin, and much more. We had 30 minutes and winning team got choice of candy to share. Loads of fun. It also was a service project cause the top item on list was can foods as many as possible. These we will take to our community food pantry.October 7th we will be painting the caboose for the Marshall County Railroad Society and then take a ride on the rails afterwards.

Updates from Valley Heights

Leo Harley Ground was the only Leo at the Great Plains Leadershp Forum and what we heard is he made a big hit!

We painted the Teen Center kitchen August 25th and did some cleaning. Have a Highway Pick Up planned for Sept 15 with the Lions.

President Harley will be having meetings Saturday of first week and Wednesday eve on third week of month.

Leos joined in with Waterville Youth Theater, Teens For Christ, and Teens Called To Action for a pool Party at the Waterville pool, and ended up at Teen Center when storm blew in. This was how our advisor Sharon King wished to celebrate her 60th birthday with the youth groups she founded and leads.

Membership a big problem for us!

During a final group meeting in Chicago, the Kansas Leos voted that a Facebook group would be extremely useful for keeping in touch with other Leos year-round. The group can be utilized for sharing pictures, keeping in touch with one another and discussing service project and fundraising ideas.
