Valley Heights Update - June 6, 2007
Three VH Leo were delagates to the State Convention in Hutchinson June 1-2. Harley Ground finally won the Trike Race for the VH Leos after two years in trying. Kaitlyn Wilson, Alex Laughlin, James Winkenwader, Katelyn Kinzel and advisor Pat Winkenwader are exciting in their plans for International. Alex's brother Tim will be in the band. Teen center cleaning plans are being worked on and highway pick-up to be done yet this summer. A welcome to the 800+ Bike Across Kansas bikers is planned for June 14. They will be coming thru Waterville and greeting by Leos at edge of town with ice drinks.

Kansas Leo Leadership Team
We are in the planning stages of creating a group of Leos from around the state who would be elected, to serve as a planning committee and advisory board for state Leo activities and events. There will be a request for nominations to this team very soon, so be watching and thinking about whether you or another member of your club might be the right Leo to serve!

Election Time
The time to hold elections for your club’s officers is now. Make sure your club submits their form (MD-72) which makes sure your list of officers is up-to-date with International and in our state directory.

Leo of the Year Award
One Leo from a Lions multiple district can be nominated. We have two Kansas recipients of this award in recent years. Maybe a dedicated Leo in your club will be next! Requirements for the award appear on the Leo of the Year Award (LEO-LOY) application form and on the Website. 

Stay Involved!
Attending district and state events is a great way to enhance your leadership skills, meet Leos from around the state, participate in service projects, get to know Lions, and travel. We always have a great time when we get together and we’d love to have more clubs participate!
